2024 Boys Basketball Third-Team All-Stars announced by Post-Journal/OBSERVER | Latest News, Sports highlights, Employment Opportunities

Bishop Butts was selected as an ECIC Division 1 Second-Team All-Star for his performance during the season. He averaged 10 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, while also blocking 65 shots for his team, the Red & Green. His contributions helped the team secure both the Section VI Class AA1 and crossover titles, as well as the Far West Regional, finishing with a record of 21-5.

Derek Ebersole, a senior from North Collins, was recognized as the CCAA Division 2 East Player of the Year. He had an impressive stat line, averaging 24.5 points, 4.6 steals, 4.4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game for the Eagles. Despite their 8-13 record, Ebersole led the team to the Section VI Class C prequarterfinals.

Senior player Jack Mansfield from Maple Grove received accolades as a CCAA Division 2 West First-Team All-Star. He averaged 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.5 assists per game for the Red Dragons. Mansfield helped the team finish with a record of 14-8 and reach the Section VI Class C quarterfinals.

Junior Greg Orcutt from Dunkirk was recognized as a CCAA Division 1 West First-Team All-Star. He averaged an impressive 19.4 points per game and had a season-high of 28 points against Southwestern. Despite the Marauders’ record of 5-16, Orcutt’s performance was outstanding, even though the team fell in the prequarterfinals of the Section VI Class A2 playoffs.

Jon Sheldon, a senior from Pine Valley, earned a spot as a CCAA Division 2 East First-Team All-Star. He had an impressive stat line, averaging 15.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4 steals, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 blocked shots per game for the Panthers. Sheldon’s contributions were crucial as the team won the Section VI Class D title and reached the Far West Regional.
