Jeff Bezos, the executive chairman of Amazon and the world’s second richest person with an estimated net worth of $200 billion, according to Bloomberg, is currently engaged in a battle with Tesla CEO Elon Musk for the title of the world’s wealthiest person.

Bezos recently sold more than $2 billion worth of Amazon stock, almost 12 million shares, on Feb. 7 and Feb. 8, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Another filing indicates that he intends to sell more, proposing the sale of 50 million Amazon shares around Feb. 7, worth an estimated $8.4 billion. These stock sales could propel Bezos’ net worth and allow him to reclaim the title of the world’s wealthiest person from Musk.

Musk’s net worth is tied to Tesla’s stock, which has taken a hit in recent weeks, dropping 24% in the first two months of the year. Additionally, a judge voided his historic $56 billion executive compensation package, impacting his claim as the world’s wealthiest. On Forbes’ list, Musk temporarily lost the No. 1 spot to the chairman of luxury conglomerate LVMH, Bernard Arnault, before regaining it and then trading the top position with Arnault.
