Borrell promises Kuleba that the EU will increase military support for Ukraine rapidly

The High Representative for Foreign Policy of the EU, Josep Borrell, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dimitro Kuleba, in Brussels on Wednesday. During the meeting, Borrell assured Kuleba that the EU will provide more and faster military support to Kiev in response to Russia’s war of aggression. They discussed the recent offensive against Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure and Borrell emphasized the EU’s determination to increase its support for Ukraine.

Borrell highlighted that the EU and Member States will provide ammunition and utilize the €5 billion Ukraine Assistance Fund within the European Peace Fund for the current year. He also reiterated the EU’s support for the Peace Formula for Ukraine and the upcoming Peace Summit with extensive international participation. Kuleba was invited to attend the next Foreign Affairs Council in April and coordinate with the EU on Ukraine’s needs.
