Breaking the Barrier: A Fight for Healthcare Pricing Transparency in America

America’s Battle for Clear and Transparent Health Care Prices

There is a growing demand for changes in healthcare pricing transparency in America, with many hospitals failing to comply with the law that requires them to post their prices online. Only about 36% of hospitals are fully complying, sparking a fight for greater transparency.

Cynthia Fisher, founder and chairman of PatientRightsAdvocate.org, a nonprofit organization focused on health care price transparency, is one of the guests discussing the issue. Molly Smith, group vice president for public policy at the American Hospital Association, is also featured, providing her perspective on the matter.

The program also features Kevin Lyons, director of member benefits for the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association, and Zachary Bessler, a software engineer. Jeff Millhollin, president and CEO of Pacific Steel & Recycling, is also included in the discussion.

This program is scheduled to air on February 13, 2024 and audio will be available after the broadcast.
