Crowds of fans gather at Omaha’s CHI Health Center for NCAA games

Basketball fans from various places, including Lincoln and Des Moines, gathered at the CHI Health Center in Omaha on Saturday to watch NCAA games. The matchup featured Iowa State against Washington State, drawing in fans like Scott and Teyona Steenhoek, who appreciated the close proximity of the game and the exciting atmosphere compared to watching at home. This was their fifth March Madness tournament, and they are avid supporters of the Cyclones.

Duane Asbe, a dedicated Iowa State fan, traveled over four hours to attend the game. While he hopes the team goes far in the tournament, he is taking it one game at a time. Asbe praised the team’s current performance and chemistry, emphasizing their unity. Jennifer McIntyre, whose son plays basketball at MIT, highlighted the positive experiences and friendships gained through the sport and supportive coaches over the years.

Leo Milan expressed his lifelong love for college basketball and the unique energy of the NCAA tournament, with fans from various schools coming together to passionately support their teams. The excitement of the games and the camaraderie among fans contribute to a distinct vibe that Milan appreciates.
