DeKalb Library to host monthly health department booth on April 16 – Shaw Local

The DeKalb Public Library and the DeKalb County Health Department have teamed up to provide monthly information booths for the community to learn about the services available in DeKalb County. These booths will be held on the third Tuesday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the library’s main lobby at 309 Oak St. Entrance to the booths is free for all patrons.

The booths will feature valuable information about programs such as the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, as well as details about immunizations and health care enrollment during special enrollment periods. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with health department staff to learn more about their services and programs. The booths will also highlight new services and focus on nationally recognized observances.

Some of the nationally recognized observances that will be highlighted at the booths include Earth Month and National Public Health Week in April, Men’s Health, LGBTQ, and Pride Month in June, Women’s Health Week in June, Healthy Vision Month in July, and National Immunizations Awareness Month in August.
