Eagles Agree to Terms with Will Grier on One-Year Contract

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced the addition of another quarterback to their roster. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team has signed Will Grier to a one-year deal. Grier, who is 28 years old, had stints with the Cowboys, Bengals, Patriots, and Chargers last season, although he did not see any game action. He was released by Dallas after they acquired quarterback Trey Lance, with plans to retain him as the team’s third quarterback. Grier had been with the Cowboys since 2021 after being selected by the Panthers in the third round of the 2019 draft.

During his rookie season with Carolina, Grier started two games and completed 28-of-52 passes for 228 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions. Since then, he has not appeared in a regular-season game. With the Eagles, Grier will join Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee as backups to starting quarterback Jalen Hurts. The addition of Grier provides Philadelphia with more depth at the quarterback position and adds competition for the backup roles on the team.
