Firefighters confirm intentional fire that destroyed barbershop in Hialeah – NBC 6 South Florida

Hialeah Fire Rescue officials have confirmed that an arson fire destroyed a barbershop early Friday morning. The incident occurred when two men threw a Molotov cocktail at the business on West 1st Avenue and 49th Street just before 3:30 a.m. Video footage from the scene showed thick smoke billowing from the business while responders worked to extinguish the flames. Fortunately, the fire was contained and did not spread to neighboring establishments.

Ariel Esquivel, the owner of the barbershop, expressed his devastation over losing everything in the fire. While he is insured, Esquivel indicated that he does not have any suspicions regarding who may have been responsible for the arson. He stated that he hopes the police can identify and apprehend the individuals involved in the incident.

Despite no injuries being reported as a result of the fire, eight employees are now without a job due to the destruction of the barbershop. Esquivel mentioned that the staff is devastated by the loss of their workplace but remains hopeful that they will be able to recover from the incident. Hialeah Police have confirmed the presence of surveillance video related to the case but have not released it to the public. Additionally, no information has been provided regarding the identities of the arsonists or any arrests that may have been made in connection with the incident.
