New Program Biz2Empower: Empowerment Resources for Veterans Starting a Business

In Houston, Texas, a program called Biz2Empower is providing assistance to veterans who want to start or grow their own businesses. Tiko Hausman, one of the organizers, explained that the program offers practical experience in networking, financing, and business strategy. The aim is to give former service members the skills they need to succeed in the workforce.

Quami Bingham, a veteran and small business owner, spoke about the benefits of the program. He said that it helped him overcome stigmas associated with his military service. Bingham shared his personal success story, stating that since completing the program, he has been awarded contracts with schools in east Texas and established supplier relationships.
