Karly Weathers of Alabama has been recognized by College Sports Communicators as a member of the Women’s Basketball Academic All-District Team. This is the first time Weathers has received this honor in her career as a sophomore with a 4.0 GPA pursuing a degree in nursing.

Weathers appeared in 34 games for Alabama, starting four of them. She achieved her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds during a victory over Arkansas on February 1st. In the NCAA Tournament win against Florida State on March 22nd, she scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds, and recorded five steals. Weathers finished the season as the team’s fourth-leading rebounder with 132 rebounds, averaging 3.9 rebounds per game.

Her contributions on the court helped Alabama secure a double-bye in the Southeastern Conference Tournament by defeating Texas A&M. Weathers played a key role in leading the team to back-to-back 20-win seasons since joining as a freshman.
