Kyle Larson takes the pole position at Richmond International Raceway

Kyle Larson will be starting at the front of the field at Richmond Raceway on Sunday night, with a pole-winning lap of 120.332 mph. This is Larson’s 17th career Cup pole and his first of the season. Following Larson is Chase Elliott with a lap of 120.321 mph, marking his best starting position of the season.

Despite being slowest in practice, Ross Chastain managed to qualify third with a lap of 120.059 mph. Behind him were Alex Bowman, Bubba Wallace, Todd Gilliland, Martin Truex Jr., Ty Gibbs, Austin Cindric, and Joey Logano. Larson is the only driver with a Next Gen Richmond win to make it to the second round of qualifying.

Denny Hamlin qualified in 11th place, while Chris Buescher secured the 14th starting position. The race will officially begin at 7:15 p.m. ET on Fox, with pre-race coverage starting on FS1 at 5:30 p.m. and continuing on Fox at 6 p.m.
