Man pleads guilty to raping and torturing mental health therapist

A Palm Beach County man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to holding a mental health therapist hostage and raping her multiple times at a home near Boca Raton two years ago. Tzvi Allswang, who was 20 years old at the time of the attack, was also classified as a sexual predator and admitted that he is a dangerous sexual offender. The incident took place in July 2022 in the 22000 block of Larkspur Trail in the Thornhill Green community near Boca Raton.

When deputies responded to the home, they heard the therapist screaming for help. They entered the house and found the woman being held against her will by Allswang, who was armed with a knife. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported that Sgt. William Nogueras shot Allswang in the head after he had held the mental health therapist captive for 15 hours. The therapist was later taken to Wellington Regional Hospital for treatment.

The woman informed detectives that her role was to assist Allswang in functioning in society, including helping him find a job and teaching him how to behave during a job interview. Allswang is set to be sentenced on May 31.
