Mayo Clinic Health System and UW-Eau Claire Partner to Offer Unique Medical Education Program for All

New Medical Academy Program launched by UW-Eau Claire and Mayo Clinic Health System offers innovative opportunities for students

Mayo Clinic Health System and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire have joined forces to offer a medical education program that is open to everyone interested in learning about the field. This program will be held on 6 consecutive Mondays at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, with each week covering a different topic and interactive activities to provide a glimpse into medical school.

Dr. Timothy Young from Mayo Clinic emphasizes that the program is designed for individuals with no prior medical knowledge and will cover basic concepts to provide a starting point for all participants. While the program does not expect participants to become experts in any specific subject, it aims to help them gain a deeper understanding of the human body and its functions.

The objective of this program is to give participants a taste of what medical school has to offer and help them determine if it is a path they would like to pursue. With many students already signed up, this collaboration has provided numerous opportunities for students, including job, shadowing, and research opportunities. The program is set to begin on April 1st, and more information on registration will be available on their website.
