Patients moved to temporary location following water leak at Halifax medical center

Due to a water leak at the Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building in Halifax, several patients in the mental health and addictions inpatient unit have been relocated. Nova Scotia Health stated in a news release that five patients have been discharged or moved to other beds within the system, but more patients may need to be moved in the future. Staff are currently notifying families and contacts of affected patients. The leak has caused some beds to be taken out of service, and it is uncertain when patients will be able to return to the unit.
