Patrick Queen’s transformation: from wanting to fight Mike Tomlin to joining his team

Linebacker Patrick Queen recently signed with the Steelers, leaving the Ravens where he spent his entire career. During his introductory press conference, Queen admitted to not always having warm feelings toward Pittsburgh. He recalled a moment during his rookie season when Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told him he wasn’t a true Raven until he beat the Steelers. Initially, this statement made Queen want to fight Tomlin, but they never came to blows.

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Queen acknowledged that playing against the Ravens, his former team, while now wearing a Steelers jersey will be a strange experience. Despite this, he expressed his desire to embrace the role of the villain. Queen cited Tomlin’s presence as one of the main reasons he chose to sign with the Steelers. Despite their past exchanges as rivals, Queen has a lot of respect for Tomlin as a coach and is looking forward to working with him. Now that they are on the same side, their days of being rivals are over.
