Reports: Miami Real Estate Mogul Sent for Psychiatric Evaluation Following Release of Strange Gun Video

Patrick Carroll recently made headlines after posting clips of himself in his waterfront mansion in Miami firing a shotgun. Police were called to his home after neighbors heard gunshots, leading to Carroll being ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and surrender his firearms. The real estate mogul claimed the gunshots were for a video and that he wasn’t using live rounds.

Christopher Bass, a Miami Beach Police Department spokesperson, confirmed that Carroll was taken to a local healthcare facility for a mental health check following an investigation. Police used Florida’s Baker Act law to temporarily detain Carroll under suspicion of being impaired by mental illness. Carroll has faced controversy in the past, from spitting in a restaurant manager’s face to getting into an altercation with a biotech billionaire.

Carroll purchased a $16.3 million waterfront home in Miami Beach in February 2022, complete with seven bedrooms, 6 ½ bathrooms, a 90-foot infinity pool, and a boat dock. His outlandish behavior in recent years has garnered attention and led to police intervention. The investigation into the gunshots and Carroll’s mental state is ongoing, with questions surrounding his behavior and safety.
