Revolutionizing Global Health: Launch of the World Health Organization’s Digital Health Initiative

Introducing the Global Initiative for Digital Health Development

The Global Initiative on Digital Health (GIDH), a WHO Managed Network, will be launching virtually on February 20, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM CET. Live-streaming will be available on their website. Registration for participants is required to attend the event.

During the launch, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, will deliver remarks, along with leaders from other UN agencies, development partners, and government partners involved in the digital health transformation.

The initiative aims to support the implementation of the Global Strategy on Digital Health 2020-2025 with specific objectives in mind. These objectives include assessing and prioritizing country needs for sustainable digital health transformation, aligning resources and unfunded priorities at the country level, and supporting the strategic objectives of the Global Strategy. The initiative also aims to build capacity and encourage local development, maintenance, and adaptation of digital health technologies according to changing needs.

Membership to the Global Initiative on Digital Health is open to all institutions engaged in digital health.
