Rob McElhenney’s sports empire set to grow after successful launch of More Better.

Wrexham AFC, under the ownership of club co-chairman Rob McElhenney, has announced the establishment of More Better Industries, a new umbrella company overseeing advisory, venture investing, and production entities. McElhenney, along with partner Ryan Reynolds, purchased Wrexham for $2.5 million in 2020 and has since transformed the club into a global brand with the success of the docuseries Welcome to Wrexham. The upcoming third season of the series is set to debut in April, leading to a significant increase in Wrexham’s value by approximately 300%.

More Better Advisory, one of the entities under More Better Industries, will manage Wrexham-related commercial and brand partnerships, including a recent collaboration with Ally Bank to sponsor the Wrexham women’s team’s first U.S. trip this summer. McElhenney has expressed his ambition to make Wrexham the best women’s football team globally and is committed to the journey ahead. Chief strategy officer Kelsey Trainor will head the advisory firm to help achieve this goal.

Additionally, More Better Ventures, another arm of the umbrella company, will focus on investing in properties within the sports, entertainment, and related sectors. McElhenney’s investment approach emphasizes storytelling elements, similar to his involvement in F1’s Alpine Racing team alongside Reynolds. More Better Productions is also set to launch officially, with plans to produce scripted and unscripted sports stories along with other genres. Jackie Cohn has led this initiative since 2022.
