Sally Beauty, a leading retailer in the beauty industry, has partnered with The Black Hair Experience to launch an experiential event series called “Rooted in Success”. The first two pop-up events will take place on Saturday, February 24 in Atlanta and Saturday, March 16 in Washington, DC.
The Rooted in Success event series aims to bring together students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), entrepreneurs, Black- and female-founded beauty brands, and consumers. The goal is to create a platform for connections within the textured hair community.
Sally Beauty currently offers an extensive selection of over 100 textured hair brands, including national brands like SheaMoisture, Kaleidoscope, Mielle Organics, and TPH by Taraji. The retailer also hosts six Black-founded emerging brands from its Cultivate Accelerator Program.
In addition to this partnership, Sally Beauty is offering active HBCU-enrolled students in the US a 10% discount on in-store and online purchases. The brand emphasizes its commitment to providing opportunities for influential industry leaders to engage with consumers and entrepreneurs.
John Goss, president of Sally Beauty, expressed excitement about the Rooted in Success event series and highlighted the importance of showcasing founder-led stories from both emerging and established Black beauty leaders. He added that continued support for the partnership will be ongoing through local events and year-round initiatives.
