Scholz aims to revive the government’s collective spirit.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz is encouraging unity within his traffic light coalition, despite the differences among the parties involved. At an anniversary reception for 50 years of the Seeheimer Kreis in Berlin, Scholz highlighted the importance of cohesion within the SPD, which has historically been divided. He emphasized that the success of the party now rests on their ability to work together effectively in government.

Scholz pointed out that the SPD is currently “completely united in government work” and that this unity has been instrumental in their success. He urged others to learn from this experience and stressed the importance of cooperation within the government. The Chancellor expressed his desire to see a renewed spirit of collaboration across the entire government.

The Seeheimer Kreis, known as the conservative wing of the SPD parliamentary group, was founded in 1974, a year before Scholz joined the party. Despite ideological differences within the SPD, Scholz believes that the party’s ability to work together for a common goal is what ultimately leads to success. He hopes that this spirit of unity can be extended to the entire government for the benefit of all parties involved.
