Undergraduate Business Major Accepted into UC Davis Curriculum for Fall 2025

After several decades of planning, the University of California, Davis, is set to launch their new business major in the fall of 2025. This major has been highly anticipated and is expected to deepen connections with the business community while providing valuable experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate students.

UC Davis Chancellor Gary S. May expressed excitement about the new program and highlighted the support from alumni and industry partners that will enhance the success of students. The university looks forward to engaging with these stakeholders to create meaningful opportunities for students to excel in their education and future careers.

A working group consisting of faculty members from various departments collaborated to design the curriculum for the business major. With a strong foundation laid by previous committees, the Joint Working Group for the Creation of a Business Major worked tirelessly to develop a program centered on math, statistics, and economics. Drawing from courses across departments, the major was approved by the Davis Division of the Academic Senate this year.

More information about the new major will be released in the coming months through a dedicated website and admissions materials. Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Mary Croughan emphasized that the business major at UC Davis will meet the demands of both students and industry, showcasing the university’s commitment to preparing future leaders and innovators. The program will allow students to benefit from the expertise of outstanding faculty members and gain an exceptional educational experience.
