WPI Now Offering First Financial Technology PhD Program; Sole U.S. University with Full Range of FinTech Degrees

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has recently unveiled the nation’s first PhD program in Financial Technology (FinTech), building upon its existing master’s and bachelor’s degree offerings. This new program reflects WPI’s commitment to staying current with industry trends and addressing demands in the rapidly expanding FinTech sector. It solidifies WPI’s position as the only university in the United States offering all degree levels in this field.

The financial services industry has experienced significant transformations in recent years with the growing prevalence of online payment services, mobile banking, and cryptocurrencies. As a result, FinTech has emerged as one of the fastest-growing industries globally, with projections indicating a demand for 1.5 million new roles and lucrative salaries in the tech sector.
