X introduces measures to combat bots and spam, cautions users about potential loss of followers

The social network X, formerly known as Twitter, has launched a new initiative to eliminate ‘bots’ and accounts that violate its rules against platform manipulation and ‘spam’. The company has warned that this initiative may affect the number of followers users have on the platform. X’s Spam Policy prohibits the artificial amplification or suppression of information, as well as any actions that manipulate or hinder the user experience.

In an effort to ensure that X remains a space where users can find reliable information and express themselves freely and safely, the company is actively working to stop ‘bot’ accounts and ‘spam’ content. This isn’t the first time X has taken steps to combat this issue – in October of last year, they launched a function to limit post responses to verified users only, aimed at preventing ‘spam’ responses from ‘bots’.

The new proactive initiative aims to delete accounts that violate X’s rules on manipulated content and spam, in order to maintain the platform’s integrity and security. X has indicated that they will be thorough in identifying and removing these accounts, potentially resulting in changes to users’ follower counts. Users who believe their accounts have been affected unfairly can request an appeal through the X help center.

Overall, X is committed to creating a platform that is free from manipulation and spam, and this initiative reflects their ongoing efforts to achieve this goal.
